You did WHAT over the weekend!?!
The most exciting part besides the actual doing of the event was scaring my parents into thinking something bad had happened....
Well! What a weekend. There is so much to tell and so little time for my attention span to keep on what I am doing. But here goes nothing.
Friday
So on Friday I left work earlier than usual (because I went in earlier than usual) and made my usual trip to Binghamton, NY to see my beloved Kate.? Although the task of driving 5 hours seemed daunting, I did make a quick "side trip" to Amp'd Ink client Matthew Taylor Designs.? My reason for visit was not work related, but "relations related."? I was there to pick up a custom designed engagement ring for which I would deliver to Kate at some point throughout the weekend.? The drive was full of anticipation and alternative music (thanks to my Sirius Radio) as well as thoughts of how the action of asking her the most important of questions.
Saturday
The day was full of work (for me) and studying (for Kate).? We drove to Binghamton University as Kate unfortunately left some notes in a class room.? Upon our return, I spent some much needed time watching a movie and napping whilst Kate continued her academic quest of conquering the nursing field at SUNY Binghamton.? Lunch was home made pasta (cooked by yours truly) and dinner was Thai food at a restaurant with the fitting name of "Thai Thai."? The drive back was a wet, cold and dark one, as we stopped by CVS so I could buy some Kleenex for my cold and sneak in a purchase of some candles to make the evening "sparkle" with romance.? Prior to calling her brother, I informed Kate that I wanted to light some candles.? After doing so, I gave her a hug (for which she claims she thought I was dying of a heart attack but I will refute that with saying that I am just out of shape).? I had keys in my pocket that were jamming into my thigh so I stood up.. took them out of my pocket.. put them in my bag and pulled out a ring container.? To Kate's surprise, I fell to one knee and asked her to marry me.? The answer at first was no (JUST KIDDING).. it was Yes! all the way.? After making numerous phone calls to various friends and relatives, we went to Number 5 for champagne and dessert to celebrate.
Sunday
Today we have been planning some of the event.? We believe the date will be October 14th, 2006 although that is not 100% set in stone.? I have been busting my ass to ensure that we have all of the information needed posted in Basecamp and that the appropriate people are involved as well.
